Plateau Blues II

Saturday, April 07, 2012

Yep, still in that plateau.

But my workouts are getting better, so there must be some muscles somewhere.

I see improvement in my performance in my muscle strength class, which I did twice this week plus this week I did a bike ride for about an hour, a 2 hour hike that was fairly strenuous and played golf with a pull cart, 18 holes. (all on different days), and none of it exhausted me.

Not bad for an old woman!

I don't eat much processed food, and have not for years. I do think that I was not eating enough, trying to lose weight and the past couple weeks have been eating a bit more and I do think that has helped with the fitness level. I have not gained weight, so the fact that I can tell that my fitness is improving, I am OK with that for now.

I will try the rotating the food, (I recently bought a juicer, and am trying that to help provide some additional nutrients), and I probably do have some portion distortion. I will check out the BMRcalculator site.

    Thanks for the info!

A plateau is caused by the body and stomach (which is a muscle) getting used to the food we eat.. Rotate your food, remove more processed food and weigh/measure it to make sure portion distortion is not teasing you..
Also eat enough- if you don't eat enough the body is resourceful and will hold on to the fat..

is a great site to know if eating enough for both cardio and "strength training"..
