He died for us!!
I love the poem "Footprints In The Sand".
This painting is a masterful description of it.
The poem begins with a person turning around and noticing that there are two pairs of tracks left in the sand on a beach that they have walked down side by side with Jesus.
The author uses this image of footprints left on a beach to portray the path of a Spirit filled person walking with Christ in their life.
The person looking back on the hard times, notices that during the worst of these times, there were only one set of footprints in the sand and assumes that the Lord had left him during those times.
The explanation for the single set of tracks is revealed to be the times when their life situations had become to heavy to bear and the Lord had to carry them through the difficult times represented by the fierce storm in the background of painting.
Happy Resurrection Sunday!
Love,
Vera
