This past weekend was my weekend to treat myself. I got to eat some REALLY yummy stuff while still exercising and doing my best to moderate the amount I was eating. It was my birthday and while I don't forget all of my healthy eating rules, I definitely relax them.
I needed it and I make no excuses because really, all I want for my birthday is to see my family and eat my favorite food. Of course, I actually skipped my favorite food... Pizza... and my mom made pot roast, home made mashed potatoes, broccoli, and biscuits... YUMMM!!! I can't control myself when I eat pizza, so it's a good thing I didn't have it. I was able to eat about 3 oz. of pot roast, a scoop of potatoes, a scoop of broccoli and one biscuit. This made me extreeeemely full though, so we waited about an hour and then..... ICE CREAM CAKE!! AHHHH
Okay, I'll stop torturing myself, because it just makes me want more. Anyways, I got to get a few new clothes, because none of my shorts from last summer fit! Woo Hoo!!
Oh, I almost forgot... for our 6 year anniversary/my birthday my boyfriend took me out for Frozen Yogurt at one of those amazing chain places where you pick all your flavors and make it yourself and only the toppings are really the unhealthy part. I absolutely love ice cream and frozen yogurt is an awesome substitute for when I get a craving. To me, it tastes the same.
All this delicious food has motivated me to work extra hard this week. And no... i'm not punishing myself. I was able to control myself, still workout, enjoy myself and eat my most favorite foods ever and not be ashamed or anything like that. I knew I was going to treat myself for my birthday, but I was very careful to not binge (as in, eat until I feel like i'm going to die kind of binge).
I am just working extra hard this week because it has been a while since I have lost any inches or pounds. And no, I don't mean just this weekend. I mean in the past month. So I gave myself a treat and decided its time to get down to business.
Here's what I'm doing:
Sun, Mon, Wed, Sat -- 60 minute cardio step class (diff instructors for each class),
Friday -- 30 minute cardio blast/ 30 minute stability ball strength training class,
Thursday -- 30 minute Tabata Interval workout at home
A total of 330 fitness minutes per week at 1300-1500 daily calories should shed some inches and if not.... the measuring tape is lieing...
