We were working on the mural yesterday, and the assistant principal came by to be sure the auditorium was ready for a visiting singer who would speak to students later in the day. (The kids all thought it was a concert - it turned out to be an "I achieved this fame because I stayed in school" kind of event.)
Anyway, one of my cute kids, a friendly 7th grade boy, went over and the conversation was like this:
"Ms Jones, I really think the music students should all go to the performance. It's really important for us to go. The other students in the school don't really need to go. The music students need to go. We're more SOPHISTICATED."
Ms Jones looked at me and we both burst out laughing - he was just so funny, and so serious about how sophisticated he and his music classmates are!
