WARNING: I am going to blow some steam off
Okay so my ex has always paid child support faithfully and we have been able to keep afloat with child support and my disability and God has provided us with a small single wide that we call home, but its ours. Well last June my ex quit/got fired from his job. I'm not sure what happened and its hard to say if I will ever know. So he decides to start his own business. HA! I knew that was trouble from the start. First off he tried that when we were married and he was like a hamster on a wheel. He never got anywhere. He went from job to job previous to that so much that we ended up going through bankruptcy. So now, finally he is starting to pay child support. I've been receiving SNAP for help with groceries and since I got divorced we have all been on a medicaid program as supplement. Well I call today to report that I have received child support and the man tries to tell me that I shouldn't have got Food Stamps for the last two months. I told him what for and straightened him out until he finally dropped it as a loophole. I called for reporting by WVDHHR's guidelines. They told me that if I didn't receive income within 30 days from last, to let them know so they could reopen the case and put money on my SNAP card. I did everything by what their reps told me. Finally after I argued, then insisted if anyone made a mistake it was his dept, and told him that I was sorry for getting mad, but I couldn't possibly repay something such as a mistake like that they had made. It is the only thing that kept us afloat. We had bills that we had to catch up from not receiving child support for so long. So he finally, although unhappily, decides to leave it as a loophole, although to be honest I'm still worried that I am going to get a call about it. Well the thing that really puts the icing on the cake is the arrearages for child support. For my medicaid program called QMB they don't count child support, but they are counting the arrearages (back pay) on my income for the program. What kind of stupid rule is that. I mean really. He said they didn't use to even count arrearages for the SNAP program, but they changed that rule and do count them. I told him that it was a stupid rule because that is income from the past that I need to catch up bills from other months. So backpay that I have long awaited receiving may be a curse disguised as a blessing. His random payments are screwing up everything. I really despise the government. Obviously those halfwits haven't lived on this side of the block. GRRRRRRRRRRR!
Okay done venting. Thanks for listening and if you pray, pray
