DISGUSTED with stupid rules

WARNING: I am going to blow some steam off emoticon
Okay so my ex has always paid child support faithfully and we have been able to keep afloat with child support and my disability and God has provided us with a small single wide that we call home, but its ours. Well last June my ex quit/got fired from his job. I'm not sure what happened and its hard to say if I will ever know. So he decides to start his own business. HA! I knew that was trouble from the start. First off he tried that when we were married and he was like a hamster on a wheel. He never got anywhere. He went from job to job previous to that so much that we ended up going through bankruptcy. So now, finally he is starting to pay child support. I've been receiving SNAP for help with groceries and since I got divorced we have all been on a medicaid program as supplement. Well I call today to report that I have received child support and the man tries to tell me that I shouldn't have got Food Stamps for the last two months. I told him what for and straightened him out until he finally dropped it as a loophole. I called for reporting by WVDHHR's guidelines. They told me that if I didn't receive income within 30 days from last, to let them know so they could reopen the case and put money on my SNAP card. I did everything by what their reps told me. Finally after I argued, then insisted if anyone made a mistake it was his dept, and told him that I was sorry for getting mad, but I couldn't possibly repay something such as a mistake like that they had made. It is the only thing that kept us afloat. We had bills that we had to catch up from not receiving child support for so long. So he finally, although unhappily, decides to leave it as a loophole, although to be honest I'm still worried that I am going to get a call about it. Well the thing that really puts the icing on the cake is the arrearages for child support. For my medicaid program called QMB they don't count child support, but they are counting the arrearages (back pay) on my income for the program. What kind of stupid rule is that. I mean really. He said they didn't use to even count arrearages for the SNAP program, but they changed that rule and do count them. I told him that it was a stupid rule because that is income from the past that I need to catch up bills from other months. So backpay that I have long awaited receiving may be a curse disguised as a blessing. His random payments are screwing up everything. I really despise the government. Obviously those halfwits haven't lived on this side of the block. GRRRRRRRRRRR!

Okay done venting. Thanks for listening and if you pray, pray emoticon

UGH!! The problem with most rules is that someone did something to try to get around the system so the rule was made. I hate that people try to take advantage of things and then what ultimately happens is that people who do follow the rules, have to suffer.

I hope this ends up in a positive place.

*really big hugs*

The government only worries about what's good for them. Hope things work out for you.

    Thanks ladies!

Kiwi, it seems like everything has been going wrong so I went to prayer afterwards, I just cried my heart out to God, and I looked out my kitchen window and saw the cutest little bird hopping along pecking at the ground and I remembered Matthew 6. I love all those verses.

I can totally understand your frustration . I was single mom of 1 for 5 yrs after the divorce of my 1st hubby before I married my current hubby. I worked full time and I child support still to this day is a a hit or miss. Its not something I have ever counted on. When we get money its nice. When I needed help I couldnt get it because I made too much money??? I made 8.50 an hour at one point no medical on me or my son. Because my work didnt offer it... I paid 475 a month for rent 450 a month for day care. Plus food on my own.. Drove a decent car but you know insurance was about 200.00 a month and gas of 100.00 a month give or take and so forth. However when my son was truly ill and ended up in the hospital I couldnt even get medical help and I lost a full weeks of pay..

However God has always came through for me. He wants our hearts and obedience.

Then and I am still learning this truth!

In all truth God is the provider. Look unto Jesus. Into His word. He wants to be part of every our life. However we always put road blocks.

Here are some scriptures! Hopefully this helps. Confess them over you and your situation. I know you are a women faith! emoticon

Hebrews 11:6 And without faith, it is impossible to please God, because anyone who comes to Him must believe that he exists and that He rewards those who earnestly seek Him.

PSALM 37:3-5,11 Trust in the Lord, and do good; so shalt thou dwell in the land, and verily thou shalt be fed. Delight thyself also in the Lord: and he shall give thee the desires of thine heart. Commit thy way unto the Lord; trust also in him; and he shall bring it to pass. But the meek shall inherit the earth; and shall delight themselves in the abundance of peace.

MATTHEW 6:31-33 Therefore take no thought, saying, What shall we eat? or, What shall we drink: or, wherewithal shall we be clothed? (For after all these things do the Gentiles seek:) for your heavenly Father knoweth that ye have need of all these things. But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you.

LUKE 6:38 Give, and it shall be given unto you; good measure, pressed down, and shaken together, and running over, shall men give into your bosom. For with the same measure that ye mete withal it shall be measured to you again.

Philippians 4:19 But my God shall supply all your need according to his riches in glory by Christ Jesus.

I hope this helps! emoticon

That is the government. They give with one hand and take it back with the other. The ones that are worst hit are senior citizens. My Mom gets $16.00 in food stamps. What is she going to buy with $16.00. Bread and milk for a week or two.

Your fears may be true. He has to turn the information over to his supervisor. It is up to his supervisor if she/he wants to go after reimbursement for the food stamps you were not suppose to receive. At one time if it was their mistake, they were not able to recoup. Because they made so many mistakes, that law was changed. They are now allowed to recoup no matter if it was fraud or their mistake. They are allowed to go back 7 years. Also if you ever came into money, hit the lottery or married someone with money, they can come after you for every single penny they ever gave you. That is why I don't even play the lottery.

The government is so full of red tape that most people cannot get the help they deserve. I'm sorry you are going through this. I hope things look up for you soon.

That is what happens when there are to many who only care about them self and out of tin air people will be looked after.
