small goals kicking

Since I joined sparkpeople I have been trying to achieve the "small goals". Things like exercising at least 10 minutes a day, logging my food intake, getting on sparkpeople in the morning to keep my mind SET, and drinking water. I know that by achieving each small goal I am really achieving the bigger goal, a healthier me ;-)
One small goal is really kicking my butt though and I am not sure how to change it... it is drinking 8 cups of water a day. I haven't successfully achieved this since I joined. I think about pushing water all day. I force myself to drink a cup even when I am not thirsty at all. The only other things I drink are 2 (big) cups of coffee in the morning and diet lipton green tea (1 bottle a day).
It is not the flavor of water that bothers me actually I find it refreshing. But to no avail I cannot seem to drink 8 cups.
Anybody else have this problem or another small goal that is kicking? I was just wondering.... and needing some insight if anyone has any!!
