My Food Poisoning Diet

Monday, April 02, 2012

Today I really wish I owned a scale to see how much weight I lost since Saturday due to the starvation and dehydration from food poisoning. It's been a rough couple of days, but I'm finally re-introducing foods: dry toast, applesauce, clear broth and maybe a banana later. I don't think I've ever had food poisoning before and wouldn't wish it on my worst enemy. Not a recommended diet at all. I'm normally a person who eats something every 3 to 4 hours throughout the day, so not eating for 37+ hours was so insane and I never did feel hungry just soooo very sick. Luckily, I had a caring hubby to watch over me and three cats that curled up with me to make sure I was warm. I'm thankfully on the mend.

A couple of good quotes I saw and wanted to share last week before "the incident" lol

Hope you all have a great week!

I posted this to SKINNYMISSKASEY's page, but wanted to copy it in case anyone else wonders... I think I gave myself the food poisoning!
I accidentally cracked an egg the other day, didn't have time to immediately cook it, put it in a small tupperware container for a day (maybe two...) and had it for breakfast Saturday morning. Ugh... That's the only thing I can think of that I ate differently from my husband and he didn't get sick. By 7 p.m. on Saturday, I was violently ill like never before and it didn't slow down until this morning (Monday).

I'm not 100% yet, but getting there. :)

oh, you poor girl! I had it once: would rather crawl across broken glass, on fire,,,
Restaurant or home cooked food? Wish we could run a scanner over things to see if they are safe to eat.

I ate Prego spaghettii sauce just hours before I became violently ill with a stomach virus, FOR FIVE DAYS. Tha twas in 1988. I just was able to eat it again about two years ago.. take it easy and go slowly,,
