Ok, so, week one was rough and some sparkpeople really helped me through it by understanding the struggle and knowing where I was. Had it not been for them, I would have bagged the whole thing from there. Many thanks to all of you for letting me whine and get over myself!
Here we are, kicking off month two. I'm down 4.4lbs and while I want to say 'only' in front of that, I'm going to celebrate it as if it were 50 because it's going in the right direction and I've learned sooooo much over the past month about what kicks the loss into gear and how quickly I can sabotage my hard work. I've also learned that a brownie here or there won't kill it so I can still have some junk from time to time but I truly feel better when I stick with the healthier choices which is great motivation to have an apple or a banana instead (with maybe a couple of chocolate chips next to it) : )).
I know I am heading in the right direction because I'm standing taller, feeling better and more confident and I even started running again - a fantastic release and relaxation tool as well as a great way to burn off a couple hundred calories fairly quickly. I've even embraced the joy and fun of wii zumba for days when I need to exercise at an odd hour or just do something different. Talk about a fun way to kick your own booty!
While the number on the scale is only down slightly, I know what it takes and mentally I am on board. I see my husband sticking to the tracker and never missing a workout and he motivates me to work towards his level of dedication because I know it works - I can see it in both of us. I'm looking forward to continuing the downward trend and feeling better every step of the way.
I've told many people about sparkpeople since I started, I can't say enough good things about the tools or the support I've found here. I couldn't do it without you all and I wouldn't want to!
