Happy New Beginnings!

Sunday, April 01, 2012

April 1st, All Fool's Day... but being the 1st... I'm marking it as my "New Year." Starting over. Yes, again. BUT!! The doctor finally figured out what was wrong with me and got me on meds to clear it up (basically: constantly irritated sinuses + exposure to cold virus = misery). My sprained wrist is healed--been healed a while & I've been healthy a few weeks now, but months of relative inactivity is a hard habit to break.

More unintentional experimentation with my sleeping schedule and I have decided I MUST be in bed by 11pm at the absolute latest. 10pm is better. I will miss some TV shows, but I didn't really have TV for a couple years so I can deal with it.

I'm going to talk with the owner of the gym I have membership with and see if I can talk him into a free session with a personal trainer to review my workout plan & make suggestions (I'd say "gym I attend" except obviously I haven't been).

Walk daily
10 minutes exercise a day (minimum)
28 day challenge
Drink water
SLEEP!!!! (in a timely fashion)
Clean house (I just did the spark trivia... people on average burn 50,000 calories a year cleaning house. If nothing else, I'll feel psychologically lighter due to decluttering)

Well, wish me luck! I'm off to run a few errands then hit the gym. Day 1.

Lazybutt: I read that "50,000 calories burned by cleaning house" on a spark people article. Apparently some study was done in Britain or someplace. I'm working (very slowly) at weeding out excess stuff in my apartment. No idea how they track it, but.. it's motivating all the same :) Though other studies I've read... you have to REALLY move while cleaning for it to burn calories.

Hey your a head of me! 50, 000 minutes for cleaning house? How does oen know? I am just joyful if I get my dishs washed, put away ,laundry done and keep the bathroom prtty clean! Make my bed now and then! Stay ahead of the paper recycling and such! lol... And Hubby takes the trash out and cuts the grass, and I am left with meal making most days and trying to stay ahead of the emails and other stuff, life gets cramped! Basically find if I get some Bible lessons in I am happy camper! I always feel better when I get to read the word (Sorry L*RD but lately its been that way to find time alone! And in the bathroom!) My new throne room and secret closet all in one! I envy anyone who can stay ahead of it all! I wish for a more youthful body and then maybe things would be better! Praying helps! Congratulations to anyone that can keep their head above the waters of this life! susana
