I am down a total of 116 lbs from my high weight. I decided I am going to be healthy. I have (hope had) several medical conditions that someone my age should not have (diabetes and sleep apnea). I also have had the dream of being an athlete.
My roommate(Kristin E. Chase) became a HerbaLife Rep and found some success so I thought I should try it. It gave me the get up and go I never had before. That put me on the track I am currently on. But I still was struggling with overeating.
My mom invited me to the OA conference back in October of last year. I met so many people that have the same issues and were normal weight. That gave me the hope I needed to try to get to normal weight. After the conference I started going to a weekly meeting and learning how to become abstinent. I am going on 4 months of abstinence from my trigger foods (everyone is different). Now life is about doing things, not what I am going to eat or going to the best new restaurant, etc.
I also use Sparkpeople.com for exercise and healthy living information. My meal plan is to eat shakes and meals that are balanced (protein, fat and carbs) and from 1,400 to 1,800 calories a day. I do not count cal. I have a basic meal plan and keep my portions in check. I hope this helps, I would love to help everyone I can.
