one day at a time

Saturday, March 31, 2012

I have read alot of member blogs on spark people. I enjoy being able to encourage and motivate others. I also enjoy when they encourage and motivate me. I need that!! Sometimes I need a little encouragemnt, other times I just need a kick in the pants to get me going. LOL.

So much good motivation and information on this site. I love the articles and quizzes. I even like to take the polls. Being on here always keeps me mindful of healthy eating. I am practicing good eating habits more and more.

I always say that Rome wasn't built in a day, and neither were my bad eating habits. One day at a time.

Lamentations 3:22-23 It is of the Lord's mercies that we are not consumed, because his compassions fail not. 23. They are new every morning. Great is thy faithfulness. KJV

God's mercy and compassion is new in our lives every morning. Let's treat ourselves the same way. Each day is a new day. Learning to take one day at a time. I used to look at the whole picture; like I need to lose 85 lbs. That just seemed impossible. I am breaking my goals up into small goals. 2 lbs per week. My first goal is to get to 200 lbs. That will be a major victory. Then I will set another goal, and then another til I am where I need to be.

Treat yourself good. emoticon

Wonderful advice for everyone here on SparkPeople! I agree with you 100% if you take just 1 goal at a time and work toward that and nothing else you WILL get where you want to be! Thank you for reminding us all!

Breaking our goals into smaller chunks is definitely the way to go because you get regular motivation as you attain them. Otherwise it's just too overwhelming! Keep up the great work!
