Notes: Planned rest day before 5K, but chose to get some cardio in since I won't be running for a PR tomorrow morning. Also decided not to switch to the All Day 25K. Reasons:
(1) Would cost me $60 more, which I'd rather spend on something else
(2) Wouldn't get home until after 1PM, and need to be down at SDSU by 2.
(3) Would mean I'd have to make the roundtrip out to Carlsbad for the expo today, and I have yardwork to do before it rains.
So...oh well. Would've been fun and a good way to ease back into the weekend "long run" schedule now that I'm back on my running legs.
Today, spent 30 minutes on the elliptical training working 175-190 spm cadence. Calibration on the machine was different from the one I had been using, shorting me "distance" compared to the other machine. Really had to work hard just to get 1 mile for each 10 minutes of effort.
After that, wanted to see how leg turnover compared, so hopped on the treadmill for a 2 mile run, oscillating between 7.5 and 9.0 on speed. Covered 2 treadmill miles in 15 minutes. Didn't wear HR monitor, but checked at intervals using railing sensors and noted peak reading of 172 at toughest points. That's pretty near my max.
Need to get to bed early tonight. 4AM wake up.
