5 Guys wants me to enjoy their 'tasty' burgers ... with gluten ... HAAAAAAAAAA!

I am in the habit of writing 'fine' eating establishments to see if they plan on offering Gluten Free options or Buffalo or Organic Beef options in the future. Sometimes a simple 'no' has me walking away with a, 'Huh, ok. You don't know what you're missing.', and leaves me in a much less fit of silly than a reply I got from 5 Guys.

Now, they were nice, but dare I suggest a change to the wheat bun recipe that they have been making since 1986!!!?!? 19 EIGHTY F'N SIX!!!! YES, I DO DARE REQUEST GLUTEN FREE!!! AH, Sparky, R U DUMB ... this is a burger we're talking about?! Gluten free buns don't match the taste of OUR burger. HA. Check out their full response below.

So, when's the last time you had a tasty, yet healthy burger? You know, I have to tell you that YEAH! Burger figured it out. They are in ATL, and man, they could give 5 Guys a run for their money once they franchise.

DDP took me here for a burger, and I had the most delicious Buffalo burger that I have ever had with some fresh cut jalapenos, pickle, and cucumber on a ... (GASP) GLUTEN FREE BUN (/GASP). Even without the condiments, this was one TASTY burger.

So, 5 Guys, eat your hearts, er, greasy gluten-bunned burgers out. Enjoy *your* burger often? Ha, I'll think stick with YEAH! Burger, , where the taste of a Gluten Free bun, and a delicious buffalo burger match the quality of my taste buds and my health, thanks.

Dear Sparky,

Thank you for taking the time to write in to Five Guys. We have received your inquiry.

At this time, Five Guys does not plan on adding any items to our menu. This includes gluten free buns as we have yet to find a gluten free bun that meets the flavor of our burger. Our bread recipe is a signature to our brand and we have been using it since 1986!

You may feel free to order your burger or dog without the bun however, as our cooks would be more than happy to accomodate this request for you.

In addition, Five Guys also does not intend on using anything other than fresh, high quality, never frozen 80/20 lean ground chuck. We follow the philosophy of keeping our menu short and simple and stick to doing what we know we do best; that is serve you great beef burgers and dogs!

Your understanding regarding this policy is much appreciated. Please know that your suggestion will be passed along to the appropriate department for consideration.

Thanks again for your interest in Five Guys. We hope you will enjoy us often!

I took my son to 5 Guys recently. I didn't eat, but I have to say that their burgers sure didn't look like anything special. And since they use 80/20 beef, I won't be eating there anytime soon, either.

Thanks for the info!

LOL. Thanks for stopping by, VEGGIESPARK! There's 2 Yeah! Burgers in the world right now, and both are in ATL. I wish they'd franchise!

Hmmmm - I haven't been to 5 guys yet in Calgary, but after that I'm thinking I might just keep on driving by after your experience. However I will be googling YeahBurger right after this note to you ;)
