We've just returned from a lovely weekend away near to the sea. We arrange this each year, and this year we were a party of 92.
As usual I was really frustrated at not being able to get into the clothes that I had chosen to wear, but that's the norm for me, and I can live with it.
Day one - one of our male friends said “I'm not being rude, but I believe you are bigger than me” - no great surprise there, I'm bigger than most people. Then he went on to tell me about someone whom he had met that would make me look slim – WHAT!
I let that go, as I know he meant no harm.
Then Day three – another male friend asked me how I got on with the chairs - “fine, I said” - then his wife said “they're ok”, to which he replied “yes, but you're only narrow” - WHAT! - I just laughed it off and said “Oh, I just let it all hang out!” - again, he meant no harm, he is a very big man himself, and wouldn't offend me for the world, I'm sure.
We are going back in one year, March 2013, and I am not going to be asked again if the chairs are too narrow for my situpon!
So from now on it's the 3 C's for me – Commitment, Consistency and Calorie control.
I gained 7 pounds while I was away at the weekend and returned at the heaviest I have ever been.
So, my friends WATCH THIS SPACE.
JUST AS WELL I HAVE A GOOD SENSE OF HUMOUR
