Worn out but got'er done

Wednesday, March 28, 2012

God is so good. My back is still down so I didn't know how I was gonna get the garden planted. My daughter came and helped me for a couple of hours and then I put in a couple more hours so it is DONE. It is amazing how hard you can push yourself when you have no choice. I think often times in our weight loss journeys we neglect to push through because we think we can't when in reality we can.

There are: two kinds of green beans, two kinds of yellow squash, white squash, zucchini, grey zucchini, cucumbers, three kinds of watermelon, okra, cantaloupe, four or five kinds of sun flowers, butternut squash, three kinds of pumpkin and spaghetti squash.

Now I just need to purchase some tomato and pepper plants and I will be finished with the planting until summer. Then I am gonna plant some zipper cream peas. Oh and I have to replant the radishes. They drowned with all the rain.

No corn this year unless I change my mind and I don't see that happening.

It is a toasty 83 degrees out this afternoon and beautiful. The rains are moving in tomorrow to water in all the seeds. emoticon

((Everybody)) Thanks for sharing in my little part of this world.

Wow, Crystle! You are ambitious. Gardening is great exercise and therapy. And there's nothing like fresh produce! You timed it right with the rain.

Your garden sounds great! We really can't put much in the ground here because we are still having freezing temps sometimes at night. Did get some seed to start. Our in the ground garden this year will probably have cucumbers, green beans, red peppers, beets, zucchini and bush Roma tomatoes. I might sneak in spaghetti squash when DH isn't looking! Our hydroponic garden will have more green beans, green peppers and regular tomatoes and probably kale and spinach.
I'll also have an herb garden with parsley, basil and rosemary.

Watermelon and cantaloupe will be so delicious in summertime. I'm so impressed that you got the garden planted despite back pain. emoticon
