This is an historic day in my life. I won't get a parade and I don't even think I live within 100 miles of a telegraph office. I doubt anyone will stop me on the street and I won't be on the 9 o'clock news. But, it's big for me, so big I even stopped my children from their studies so they could witness the near miracle. I can not only touch, but stay down at my toes for several seconds. No bouncing necessary. I don't have to get a lot of momentum going like before. I can simply reach down with straight legs and touch my fingertips to my bare toes (more than once even!).
Ahhhh. This is what it feels like to climb Mt. Everest - the satisfaction of a hard challenge conquered. I think I will bask a little longer. Then probably get up and do the dishes. Even heros have dishes.
