Leptin Reset

Monday, March 26, 2012

I've been reading about the Leptin Reset
on one of the health related email lists I'm on. I was impressed by the number of people on my list who have had positive results with the Leptin Reset, so I decided to try it myself.

I started the Reset on Saturday morning. So far it's been going well. I have not been hungry at all. I'm eating the prescribed 50 grams of protein for breakfast. Dr.Kruse says that if you eat enough protein at breakfast you should not want anything until dinner time. So far, that's been true for me. On the Reset, you are supposed to limit carbs to 25 grams per day or less. And that has not been a problem for me at all. I cut out grains naturally about 3 months ago anyway, so I don't eat many carbs to begin with. I am missing my fruit, though.

Saturday morning my Fasting Blood Glucose was 135.. which is typical for me. But, after my huge protein breakfast my post meal glucose was 139. Glucose remained within the normal range all day.

Sunday FBG was 98.. within NORMAL range!! My FBG has not been "normal" in the 4 years I've been tracking it. The lowest it's been in those 4 years is 105. Glucose levels stayed fairly level all day. The lowest was about an hour before I ate dinner at 84. I didn't eat a full 50 grams of protein Sunday morning and I paid for it. Around 3 pm I got really hungry. I thought about having a snack, but managed to hold out until dinner at 5pm. I did notice that I actually found a place where I stopped being hungry and was satisfied. .. a strange feeling for me. I have not felt hunger or food satisfaction in 20 years or more.

Monday-- FBG -97 -- Normal again!! Woke up hungry. I ate a cup and a quarter of canned salmon wrapped in 6 romaine lettuce leaves for breakfast, and had a cup of coffee. I seem to be craving water today. I've had 4 cups already and it's only 10 am.

Blood sugar 4 hours after breakfast is 93.
