Just Beginning

Monday, March 26, 2012

I have been hanging around here at Spark People for about 4 weeks, and this is my first attempt at a blog. I wanted to have a record of where I was when I started and where I will be in a year. Right now I am still struggling with my blood sugar numbers, and combining exercise into my daily routine. I am coming from being a complete couch potato, sedentary to the point of not being able to go up and down stairs without being winded. My blood sugar after my morning walk has been higher than I am used to (140 - 180) and that is on an empty stomach. I have to try to do my blood before I walk and after to figure out what is going on. Mad scientist here I come. At least I have a better attitude about this diabetes than I had in the beginning, where I basically ignored the fact that I even had diabetes! Yeah, not very smart. emoticon

You're not alone guy, my numbers drive me absolutely bonkers at times...most of the time it's just my own stubbornness that does it though. Welcome to SP!

Welcome!!! Blogs are a great way to write what you are feeling, have support from Spark friends and like you said, a record of where you've been.

You are on the right path with dealing with your diabetes. :-)
