Updating my Quit

Sunday, March 25, 2012

It's been a week since I quit Sparkpeople. I have been on antibiotics (which I don't like to take) for a week for bronchitis and sinus infection. I couldn't seem to get off the couch or breathe very well (I feel so bad for asthmatics...what a difficult life!!), which is hard since I homeschool my kids. My broken toe is healing and I am walking a little better, but shoes still hurt my toe.

So, I haven't forgotten about Sparkpeople, but I truly quit for the time being. I haven't been tracking food and I haven't been doing any exercise at all. I did clean the house today, and was quite tired. Allergy season here is ridiculous and causing problems for my family. I think the trees are fighting back.

This too shall pass, I know. So, I am planning to come back to Sparkpeople when I can run again...about 4 more weeks (I don't want to try it too early, even with walking). I am not going to track food, but I am going to try and make healthier choices (I wasn't doing the greatest job before, but I was getting there). I will track food choices after about a month when I get the running and working out thing down pat.

That's my plan. Hope it works. It's such a bummer, too. Because I am supposed to go to a concert with my sister in May, and I was well on my way to wearing a cool, smaller outfit. I refuse to buy a new wardrobe with the added weight from the past year.

Hope others are faring well! Happy Spring! I will probably check in again next week. emoticon

Thanks for the blog comments t. If it all seems too much, maybe you could just start smaller. Track your water or the fiber in your diet or something that is heading you in the right direction without being overwlemed. Hope you are feeling better!
