Walk of Fame Blog, Day 3

Sunday, March 25, 2012

It's the third day of our "Walk of Fame" weekend challenge, and I'm looking at full points for the challenge! emoticon

Today, what helped was, again, my husband. That man is a true Energizer bunny! I don't know anyone who can work the hours he does, with such intensity and passion. Definitely, I am NOT like that at ALL -- I would much rather be on the couch with a good book, especially on a chilly, gray day like today. But, because he keeps going, I feel compelled to, as well. And so it is that, instead of relaxing all day with that good book and ignoring the work that needs to be done, I emptied boxes and filled bags with packing paper and organized cupboards and planned the week's menus and made my grocery list and... oh, shoot... never did get to the vacuuming! emoticon As the day wore on, my back got more and more achey -- the last thing I felt like doing was taking a walk. But, DH insisted, and so we took a 40-minute walk with the dogs. My back still aches, but I know the walk was good for me. emoticon

What hindered me today was, again, my husband! I had a healthy dinner planned, but he announced that Pizza Hut was having a $10 box special and we "had" to take advantage of it. I figured one slice of pepperoni pizza wouldn't kill me... but, he came home with a pan pizza with pepperoni AND bacon, as well as breadsticks and cinnamon sticks. Really? REALLY?? emoticon

Fortunately, I was prepared with a yummy Romaine and spinach salad. I did have one slice of the pizza, and quickly wished I hadn't -- it was heavy and greasy and, frankly, gross! I don't know why I keep eating things that I know won't taste as good as I remember them tasting... you think I'd learn. emoticon

Tomorrow is the last day of the challenge. I'm sure there will be things to hinder me, but there will also be things -- or people (yes, I'm looking at YOU!) -- to help me. One day at a time, one baby step at a time, I'll meet my goal. And you'll meet yours, too. Together, we can do it! emoticon

Yeah one slice and salad sounds good to me. Hopefully one day we will believe ourselves when we say it doesn't taste as good as it looks!.... I started buying pizza base from the supermarket and putting my own topping on. Much more satisfying than the ready prepared ones.

    Husbands must plan it! emoticon

I suppose we should be happy they bring home the bacon? emoticon

All kidding aside good for you for taking the salad route and keeping it down to the one slice! emoticon
