Health & Wellness Fair!

Saturday, March 24, 2012

It was a lot smaller then I expected. One display for organic fair trade coffee, three displays on Moms to be, footwear, climbing, a new local wellness magazine, MS display, A personal trainer demostrating a swiss ball as well as a bosu. I tried both and on the bosu was able to balance on one leg. I couldn't quite get the hang of picking both feet up off the ground on the Swiss ball. Then there was a hooping display. The room was way too small to demostrate it here, so they went to the gym. I tried the hooping, didn't do the worst, but I couldn't seem to stop it from riding up higher on me -most had trouble with it dropping. Its actually harder then it looks, I found it tough. Tried to get the hang of it for 15 minutes, dropped a few times. Then I was running out of time to make it to My Curves Zumba. I made it just as they were going into the second machine, so I stayed at the end to get the machine I missed. The Zumba class was small and a good thing as there wasn't much space to move in -the second class only had three people!
Enjoyed myself this morning, although the cold and new snow wasn't very welcome, we will probably go for a walk later today!
Have a Super Sparking Saturday!

OK - I'm going to show my ignorance!!! I assume that "hooping" is hula hooping. I used to love doing that as a child and was quite good at it. Of course, I was built a bit differently then, too! LOL! Glad you could make both the activities you wanted!

I have never enjoyed hooping, and I don't believe I ever will! Different strokes for different folks, I say! emoticon I am doing ok, but really, really banged up! I may not be on the computer a lot, or maybe sporadic is the better word, until I feel better from my wreck... Love you, friend!

hi Linda, I just got caught up on reading your recent blogs. You have such a lovely life it seems (aside from your physical suffering and such)....Your outings and walks, and your company with your mom all seem so comfy and nice. I wish I could have a gym membership to try some of the things you do....but $ and transport preclude it. So i enjoy it vicariously through your blog.
Glad you got to fit in both the Zumba and the health fair.

Sounds like you really enjoy your exercise. I am trying to find my way back to loving it again. There is a Curves very near to me that I have thought about joining. Then I think of all the means available to me to exercise at home. That's if these migraines will take another long holiday.

emoticon it sounds like the fair was a nice change of scene!
emoticon More power to ya for even being able to USE a stability ball! I roll right off!
As to the hula hoop, I have never been able to do it! I try on the Wii, and my hips just do not move in that fashion!
I like your background shot, too. Who would thing you would have frozen trees and it is only two weeks until Easter?
Enjoy your Sunday!

I have never in my life been able to do the hula hoop. Drops like it weighs a million pounds the minute I try to start it. It is wrong - WRONG I tell - you that it rides up on you!!! :-D

Even with the fair being small, it sounds like you made the most of it. :) I still haven't tried Zumba yet, but it's on the list.

Sounds like you enjoyed yourself, which is always a good thing. LOVE your page background with the ice-clad branches and deep blue sky behind. Gorgeous!

I read an article about hooping yesterday - how funny to read about you trying it today. I am far too uncoordinatedfor any of this, but it sure sounds fun.
