Lots of information to read!

Saturday, March 24, 2012

Hi all,

I had a pretty good day today and work went well too!

I received another call from the Social Worker at the hospital concerning mom. We talked for a bit and she emailed me the Information on Residential Care and told me how to get POA for mom.

Such a very nice and understanding person. I will be meeting with her next Wed. to follow up on how to move mom to a nursing home and when to do it and how all this will work out.

After speaking with her I downloaded and printed out the information for POA.

So I have tons of reading to do and forms to fill out. Once mom signs the POA and we get two witnesses to sign it then I become Mom's Caregiver and can look after all her affairs for her.

I will then sit down with John(bro), my step dad and his sister and figure out what is best for mom and where to place her. I don't want to make all the decisions and then get blamed later on it something happens. I want the entire family to help me decide on what to do and if they won't I will have to deal with it when it happens.

I had a friend asking me if I knew who Wallace and Gromit were and of course I knew who they were. About ten years ago I had made the collection for a good friend and sent them off. I forgot to take pictures of them and some how lost all of the printed patterns.

I looked all over the place for them and couldn't find any.

So what I did is I asked for help on one of my knitting site and the next thing I knew I got an email from a very nice person saying that if I give her my email address she will send me all the characters.

boy did I every score big.

She sent them to me PDF file, so now I have them on my computer and I did print out all the instructions.

So now I will be spending the next few weeks knitting up these characters.

I have Wallace, Gromit, Wendolene, Preston, Feathers McGraw and Shaun the sheep.

I can't wait to get started on them. What I am planning on doing is finish Scooby Doo and the Giraffe while at work, Then work on the characters at home.

This way I can alternate between knitting and crocheting so that my hands won't get tired or cramping up.

Well time to go to bed I have to be up at 7 am but I needed to get this blog done so that I can sleep.

SandraLand is closed. hugs and prayers to all

Great idea to include the family in decisions pertaining to your mom - will save a lot of stress.
Anxious to see pics when the projects are completed.

So glad that you will be getting input from you other family members. Good luck to you on what can be a burden...a lighter burden when shared with others.

You are wise to include others in the decision-making process, but if they choose to not help ... then they'll have to be willing to accept any decisions you make.

It is best if you can get the others to help you with the decisions, but if they won't and it doesn't go right, you can't blame yourself.
I'm glad you got your patterns, I've never heard of those characters. LOL! Have fun! HUGS!
