you need to read this!
Reader's Digest version:
Why do we fall off the low carb wagon even though we know it makes us healthier and feel better? It's a form of "decision fatigue" from being immersed in a non-low-carb world that constantly erodes our sense of confidence in our eating choices and flaunts the temptations of our former excesses.
The solution? You're looking at one part of it! Positive reinforcement! Surrounding ourselves with positive affirmations that what we're doing is a good thing, beyond what even the scale and the mirror say, is the best prevention for wagon-falling-off-ism.
It should come as no surprise that once people quit being active in communities like this one they frequently fall back into old bad habits. I really liked the example of the friend who had not had a drink in 10 years but still chose to attend AA meetings before a potentially tempting drinking situation.
