workout decisions

Thursday, March 22, 2012

The decision for today is what class to do at the gym. Two days ago I decided to take a class called Belly Butt Thighs, which I have done in the past but not for a while. I love this class because it works out the areas I really need to tone. the issue I am having today is that I am still sore! Do I take the class again today and hope that it "works" out my soreness or do I take it easy and just exercise on a cardio machine and then take pilates? Why is it so hard to decide. Is it my brain convincing my body not to overdo it? Or is it a lame excuse to not workout hard?

I usually decide based on the degree and style of the soreness. If I'm having trouble sitting and standing and it's tight and painful, I'll usually give it more recovery time and do something focused on another body area (arms, for example). If it's just an ache in the muscle (not pain, but sore / used feeling) and feels better when I get up and move, I'll work it again.
