How I Took Down the Spark Server Earlier Today

I took down the server. I admit it.

Time-travel experiments hereabouts, but messed up the Calculus of the Heisenberg Paradox Equation and torched every server I was connected with at that time.

Thing is, I was working on going back in time, to relive my childhood and teenage years as a skinny person. Athletic prowess, self-confidence, popularity, did I say "dates"?!?! It all would have been mine. And I had the Math almost right too. For a few brief moments, President Kennedy was alive and on the radio, telling us that both he and all of us are citizens of Berlin...

Anyway, if I could keep feet and meters straight it would be 1961 for me again in my universe, and Spark would be up and running in your universe.

    :) My problem is, I ALWAYS thought I was extremely overweight, even though I wasn't as a youth. As a young adult, I gained 100 pounds the first year of my marriage, but didn't feel like I looked any different. Ah, but if I could go back knowing what I know now...

Since I can't, I'm going to push myself to do all that I can with the body I have today. Thanks for the provocative post!

    Ah HA!! So you were the one who brought the site crashing down! I would never be guilty of that, because I don't know enough to even TRY to do what you tried, ROTFL!
Hmmmm...........If we went back to 1961 I would be only 9 years old..... Don't think I would care to relive all those years again! DH though, would be 19, and in Germany (with the army)

    OH if only we could go back in time, eh?? But then.. would people really have liked us better in school if we were lean and strong? I kind of doubt it. I was still thin-skinned and I cried at the drop of a hat. I was still from a wealthy family so people were jealous. I still had huge glasses and I was the smartest kid in class. I was really an outcast already even without being the heaviest girl in the class as well. Today's kids are so much heavier and they're really going to need us as they get older - so they can learn to be healthy people, too.

Thanks for the humor.. and if you're not kidding.. darn it, man, be careful with my SparkPeople life line! :)

    Sooooo, it was you! That's why so many Sparkers got a lot of work done today. On behalf of the SP community I thank you for today's productivity.

[PS: If you want a "taste" of that era, read Stephen King's latest: "11/22/63 A Novel". He captures the essence of the '50's and '60's quite nicely, and I'm not a fan, usually.]

Ms. Reyning Sunshine is correct. The president referred to himself as a jelly doughnut ("Ich bin ein Berliner"), not a Berliner ("Ich bin Berliner").
