You Have Such A Pretty Face

How many of us have heard that? I know I sure did as a young adult, by a well meaning mom.

58 + years later I still probably have that pretty face – just a bigger body ! J
I live in a household consisting of 5 adults, 2 children (son’s 6 year old daughter and 2 year old daughter); my husband (who is overweight), my 23 yr. old son (who is overweight), his wife (also overweight), my grandson, and myself (who is very obese).

I have type 2 diabetes, a heart attack April 09 and then open heart surgery April 10 – my husband had a heart attach 6 years ago and still smokes like a chimney (and loves his pizza and snacks). My son is 6’2” (or there abouts) and probably weighs about 315 lbs. I don’t want him to go through the issues I’m going through or have heart complications which is what my parents had.

I need to show them that wife, mom and Nana can overcome her weight problem and have it become second nature to eat correctly and exercise – just like breathing but I need outside help to “lead me by the hand”.

You can do this. You are a strong woman. You have what it takes to lead your family to health. Above all, God is on your side in this. You don't have to rely on our strength alone!
