Pollen

Tuesday, March 20, 2012

So, I don't blog much but today I just wanted to give you an update on Atlanta and pollen. I've lived here my entire life and have to say I don't remember many days where you would look down the street through a yellow fog, but that has been the case since the weekend. Normally, the pollen isn't that big of a deal for me as my allergies are more from mold than pollen. Unfortunately, it's getting to me this year. Today is the second day of record breaking pollen counts - 9,369. Yesterday was high at 8,164. Our previous record high was recorded in April 1999 - 6,013. Here's the kicker though - anything over 500 is considered extremely high. I feel like I have sweet gum balls in my throat, eyes and sinuses - YUK! My skin itches and I've only been outside for maybe 5 minutes total today. I'm praying for a good hard rain to wash at least some of it away. Maybe then I can go back outdoors.

Sorry for whining.

Oh no! I too have allergies, so I do understand somewhat, though I've never seen anything that bad! Do you have a/c on, or an indoor air filter? I wonder if those would be any help at all against pollen counts that high! Please do what you can to take care of yourself and avoid it! That sounds awful. emoticon

I'm also wishing for a good rain for you! emoticon
