Water aerobics

It is so wonderful to exercise in the water. If you can possibly do that, try it. I feel like a kid. Aches and pains (almost) don't exist. As time goes on you make wonderful friends in the class. the water hides all the bulges. What's not to like! Chris

  I started taking water aerobics class when I was recovering from knee surgery. What a huge difference it has made. I enjoy having the ability to run and really push myself in the water, and to move like I could never do on land. My knee feels great now, but I still take the class three times a week because the rest of me feels so good, too!

    Everyone in the pool! My water exercise is concentrated on an Aqua Pilates program I created, 'Peyow Aqua Pilates'. It is quite different that water aerobics, in that it is more for Strength, Stability, and Balance. The warm water therapy has proven to be quite beneficial to those with chronic pain and illness who have not found relief with conventional physical therapy.

Water is wonderful!

    I couldn't agree more....I love the water. I'm looking at joining my local YMCA and it has a pool. Plus the complex I live at has a pool and it'll be open soon. I'm definately a pool baby! emoticon

    I swam for years in a very old YMCA and we had a big campaign for the new Y. DH and I helped out a great deal but what was supposed to be a therapy pool became a kid pool even though the middle is 5 feet deep. I told them that is not good for the kids when I asked my GD if she could touch bottom. I ducked down and was up to my eyes I am 5'4'. Too deep for kids should be 3 or3'6"

IF the water is warm it is the best kind of exercise for so may conditions. I and my body miss it. I can walk better now so i do 4 miles a day and i do feel a lot better . HUGS Pat In Maine.

    I do not take a class but there are about 7 or 8 of us that meet at the pool at 5:30 AM and spend an hour together either swimming laps or doing aerobics or both. It is so much fun and like you said no aches or pains in the pool. I feel so much better the days I go for that swim in the morning. emoticon

    emoticon i go to water aerobics 3 x a week you can do a lot of things in water than what you can do on land

    Amen to the water aerobics. Much of my exercise early in my journey happened in the pool. You can get an excellent workout in there. The harder you push on the water, the harder it pushes back!

    There are a few water aerobics classes at my gym but with really terrible time slots. I love when I can sneak one in. I'm glad it's part of your exercising repertoire and that you enjoy it so much.

    I love the fact that you don't get all sweaty! I also like the constant support & resistance that the water gives my body.
