I did it!!

So I had posted that I was planning to go to a kickboxing class during my lunch hour today and to please keep me accountable. Well, I did it!! I was a little nervous because it was my first time actually being able to get into my work gym facility AND it was my first try at kickboxing, but it all turned out GREAT! My badge finally worked and I was able to go right on in, change out of my work clothes and into my workOUT clothes and went into the group exercise room. I was a little thrown off, though, because the trainer decided that today’s class was going to be a circuit training type class, and she had stations set up and we went through all of them once for 45 seconds and then again for 30 seconds. I was doing exercises I haven’t done in forever…some I hadn’t done EVER! There were kickboxing moves at some of the stations, but they were mixed in with burpees, mountain climbers, leg smashes, push ups, jumping jacks, stuff like that. I enjoyed the time and the people in there were nice and the trainer is nice and encouraging, too. And there weren’t a TON of people in there like at the gym I go to with the hubs, so I liked that part of it, too. Anyways, they said that next week would be a more “normal” kickboxing class, but I didn’t mind the circuit training so much! It was something different for them, too!!
I’m glad I got this workout out of the way because like I blogged before, the most difficult thing for me to overcome sometimes is the mental aspect of all this. So now that I have actually gone to the gym once, the “first time” obstacle is out of the way and I best better be getting in there more often!!
So tomorrow I have Jury Duty. UGH. I was actually kinda excited about it at first and have been practicing by yelling “GUILTY” every time I see a crime story on the news, but now that it’s actually here I’m just like blah. So I got summoned for jury duty for the county tomorrow and last week I got a summons for the city municipal court next month! Man, I feel popular, but not in a good way! LOL! This is my first time to serve jury duty, so I’m interested to see how that process will go.
My mother-in-law is in town for my stepson’s spring break. I’ve been coming into the office during the week, so she’s not so in my face. She’s been helping with cleaning up and making dinners and things like that, and it’s nice to have someone else around to hang out with/talk to. Don’t get me wrong, I love my hubs, but when all he wants to do is lay around on the couch on Sundays and watch golf (BORING!!), getting the chance to play Skip Bo instead is much appreciated! Sometimes when I’ve been bored on the weekend I’ve asked my hubs if he wants to play a game and he always says no. It is starting to bother me…but that might be a different blog for a different day…
Alright, that’s all for now. The Starfish team is off to a GREAT start with the Spring 5% Challenge…we’re moving and drinking our water and getting to know each other and all that good stuff!! Let’s keep up the great work, team!!
