I'm Back! Gastoparisis and all

Monday, March 19, 2012

Well it has been over a year since i was swallowed up by my tummy troubles. Through many test and trials i was diagnosed with gastroparisis which means paralyzed stomach. Esentially what happened is i was subjected to constant daily vomiting. I was unable to keep foods down and had to be infused with a multitude of fluids to beat the episodes.

Once diagnosed I found that I was unable to handle any kind of red meat. I was told basically to eat nothing but soft carbs because they are the easiest to digest. Being that my body cannot breakdown carbs well I started to gain weight...even with the vomiting spells. I have gained back over 50% of the weight I had lost. This being the case i am determined to get the strength back so i can workout...or even WALK like I used to.

Consistency is the key i am I have decided to try out Nutrisystem D. I started on the nutirsystem advanced for 2 weeks (donated to me from a friend) today. I am hoping through the consistency of prepared ..premeasured.. meals i will find some relief for my tummy.

So far today i am over the carb limit i am comfortable with...but i know this is bigger than i am and i need to just trust that nutisystem knows what they are doing. I do know that part of what triggered my gastroparisis is the protien diet i was on for a year!

In either case i am rambling.....thank you to sparkpeople for being here...thank you sparkfriends for their time and support!
