After a week of self-indulgence at an all-inclusive resort in the Caribbean, I shouldn't be surprised or disappointed in the number on the scale, but I am. I'm up 3.5 lbs from last Saturday, when we left on vacation.
I absolutely think a lot of that is water weight, but if I'm totally honest with myself, I absolutely deserved to gain some 'fat' this week too. We were at a place without a regular internet connection, so I used that as my excuse. I wasn't able to track anything, so why even bother trying to eat right? Hah! So, into my mouth went the fruity drinks, wine, the breakfast sausage and bacon, the burgers and fries, hot dogs, pizza, pasta, cakes, cookies, etc., etc., etc. Blech.
However, I AM proud of the fact that I worked out every day on vacation for 40-90 minutes. Some days, that was nothing more than a long walk on the beach, but I did strength training twice, and kept up with my "5k Your Way" running plan, as well as doing some biking and even sea kayaking.
Well, scale, you're not going to ruin my day or week, and you're not getting me to give up on this quest for a healthier me. Back on track with a healthy breakfast (already in my nutrition tracker), and a big glass of water to get me started. I'd love to re-lose that 3.5 lbs this week, maybe with some of their friends too.
