Great Tip for Green Smoothie Lovers

Saturday, March 17, 2012

I always take advantage of listening/watching free webinars / seminars / teleseminars that are available for free on the internet. The information is usually more current than what you can find in printed books. Last night I was listening to the Three Day St. Patty's Green Smoothie Challenge kick off teleseminar. I am so happy I did. I have participated in this in the past but it always pay to take a refresher course so to speak.

Here is the great tip it learned. It was genius! Why didn't I think of that? emoticon

I am following a Raw Diet so if I want milk I don't drink cow's milk, I drink nut milks. I do Raw so the kind you buy on the shelf in the box, let's say almond or hemp milk, they are not Raw. They have been pasteurized so I need to make mine out of Raw nuts or seeds in a blender then use a nut milk bag to complete the process.

emoticonTo make a Raw Nut Milk really super simple: emoticon
1 Tbsp favorite Raw Nut Butter
1 cup filtered water

Blend.

How simple is that? No straining through a nut milk bag. You can use Raw Almond Butter, Raw Cashew Butter, Raw Sunflower Seed Butter, Raw Macadamia Nut Butter, or How about switching it up and using Raw Coconut Butter? OMG! seriously why didn't i think of this?

Awesome! You can also do this with tahini too. Supposedly really high in calcium.

I love it! It's so simple a child could do it. Also, it's great to do in a pinch. I love making my almond or nut milk from scratch, but will remember this for future tight times.

I use raw almond butter in place of peanut butter. Never thought to make milk out of it!!!

Thanks! Most of the box nut milks have carrageenan and I hear that is one of the latest things to avoid. So, this comes in very handy. Cuz there's no way I would have the time to strain some almonds after soaking. I would forget they were there and they'd turn to mush or the cat would eat them.

Have a great St. Patty's day, Yvonne!

Thanks.

I have drank green smoothies and green juices but they have never been HIGH on my like meter. Oh they are tasty, just there are others I like much more. That being said, if there was ever a day to give them another shot... it would be today!

Wow! I look forward to trying that. I've been soaking the nuts overnight, blending with H2O, adding vanilla, liquid stevia, then straining...it's a bit of work and takes some foresight. Thank you for sharing this.
