A week with Sister!

Friday, March 16, 2012

After I finish radiation, in about 2 weeks, ( I thought it was 3 but it is only 2 woohoo) my sister said I could come stay with her for a week or so! She does NOT smoke and never has! I really think I can quit if I am staying in a smoke free environment! I am excited once again, about quitting! I really had given up, thinking I would never be able to quit, but I have hope again now:)

She lives to far away for me to drive to radiation everyday and back, that's why I am waiting, but not too far to drive once a week to chemo and back. We used to live together a few years ago when our Mom was alive, and I really loved living there! I may not want to leave again:) I think we will enjoy our time together especially if I am not smoking!

I couldn't sleep last night because every time I lay down for the past 3 days I start coughing. I asked my radiologist for an emergency inhaler and they just called and said I could pick it up. The funny thing is I fell aleep about 2 this afternoon, and when I woke up after 4 pm, I though I had missed my raidation today, then remembered, I had already gone, come home and cleaned the house a bit, and did 2 loads of laundry!

Hope everyone has a great weekend!

Family is the heart of healing. You seem to have a Sister that cares for you and you for her.
Remember, never quit, the quit. What has been done for years can not be undone over night. It does take time, determination, motivation and support. You have them all. So go Girl. Have fun with Sis.

May you have a great time with your sister. Maybe do a little bit of cleaning out the smoky smell in your current place so that when you return you won't be tempted. Put out some air fresheners for while you are away.
    Happy St Patricks day.

That's lovely your sister has invited you to stay. That alone must make you feel better. I agree with Miss viv, great that you are looking forward to being in a smoke free home. I hope it helps with the challenge of quitting. Think how nice it will be when you are done. Put your cig. money away and buy the nice things you sometimes can't afford as an incentive? emoticon

Happy dance time again! Maybe an Irish Jig today. LOL You are going to have such a great time being with your sister.

I may have told you this before, but when you are quitting drink lots of water/ juice and take baths to open your body up to releasing the toxins. Maybe your sister will go for short walks with you after meals and other times when you would normally smoke. The first 3 days are hardest. You know I will be praying for you. God will make a way when there seems to be no way!
