Spring 5% Challenge

And so it's about to begin again. This will be my 4th 5% challenge, my 3rd as ML (motivation leader) of the awesome Teddy Bear team. Last spring I was really getting off track and had regained about 12 lbs when THETURTLEBEAR invited me to do the Summer 5%. That completely got me back heading in the right direction.

The past couple of weeks I haven't been able to exercise and ate more than usual so my weight is up a bit. My goals for the Spring 5% are to get as close to my lowest weight as possible and to rack up those fitness minutes concentrating on ST and interval training. I will be focusing on a lower carb regime by eating a variety of foods, and am slowly moving to a plant based diet, adding more grains, legumes, and veggies.

Being the ML means that I have to set an example for the Teddy Bears. How can I be motivational if I'm slacking off? This is a good way to keep me on the right path. We have a wonderful team and I'm looking forward to getting to know the new members. I'm available to give advice, encouragement, support, and to cheer everyone on towards their goals.

It is a lose 5% of your weight challenge but I'm going to continue to extol the virtues of giving credit for NSVs or non-scale victories. It's so important to stay committed, no matter what the scale says. Just don't give up and you'll reach your goals. Even if we don't lose 5%, we'll make friends and make progress.

Spring 5% Challenge, here I come!

    Keep up the motivation of yourself cause it really keeps the rest of us focused too!! Love the non scale victories thread and hearing about what others accomplish not related to weight!! Smiles Barb

Yes, I am in Orlando (or Kissimee?) - going back to SoCal tomorrow to get my 120 minutes for day 1!!

    Can't wait for the 5% challenge to start tomorrow! We have such a great Teddy Bear Team, with wonderful leaders! (Thank you for your continued motivational leadership to the team, it really helps just when we need it!) I am hoping this will be my challenge that I hit goal! I am only 5.5 pounds away from my goal weight! LET'S ROCK TEDDY BEARS!

    I am glad the 5% challenge is about to begin again. I really need the extra accountability that the challenges provide for me. Since July, I have regained about 15 pounds, and am hoping to loose a good portion of it during the next 8 weeks.

Wishing you a very successful challenge, even though we aren't on the same team :-)

    Personally, if you were my Motivation leader, I would appreciate and learn from your situation. The fact that you are supposed to be the role model but you are still are not perfect all the time. It shows you are a person and can't always be perfect all the time, It makes you more relateable and it makes you more motivation that you recognize that you are struggling, and take things that you learned from the past, that you have been successful at and use them again! I just think its inspirational! Are you doing the 5% challenge with your team? If so am I able to join!
