Hi dear friends,
This is the hardest blog I have had to write since my Mom died almost 2 yrs ago. Thor went over the Rainbow Bridge about 10:30 tonight. Dr. Gail was with him. I am so grateful he wasn't alone. She had been with him most of the day. His blood sugar this morning was so high it didn't even register. Then it came down to 500 and something. He had a seizure a few hours ago but wasn't responding to anything. His blood sugar came down to the 300's late in the day but it was just too late.
We have so many wonderful memories of him. I can see him laying here on my desk nest to me..taking up part of the keyboard! I see him walking me to the rug in the living room to be brushed. I see him walking me to the bathroom so I'd turn on the water in the sink so he could drink from it. I see him looking up at me with those beautiful eyes of his. I feel him poking me in my side trying to get my attention when I was at the computer. The longer he had to wait, the harder the poke got. It was so funny. I see him sticking his head through the bind behind the TV and then turning to see if I was watching him then he'd jump down when I stood up. That was his way of getting food every night at 10 pm while his Daddy had his snack.. a bowl of ice cream. Thor did this every single night. I know I'll "feel" him jump up on the bed with me tonight and many nights after. He will be there in spirit.
Arjay and I both said our own private prayers tonight that God take him so he wouldn't have to suffer anymore. Neither one of us knew about that until we told one another after Dr. Gail's phone call. We were going to have him put to sleep and had the appointment made for 2 pm tomorrow afternoon. God answered our prayers. I am just so sorry I didn't get to see him one more time but that wasn't to be.
Do I believe Thor has a soul and that he is now in Heaven. Yes I do. He's there with Tyke, Taffy, Tiger, Sandi and Snowball. He's there with all of the wonderful Spark fur babies that have gone on before him and they are all playing together. I look forward to the day when we will meet again and never be separated again.
Thank you all so much for your love, prayers and concerns. Thor felt very special having his own blog and being part of the Spark Community.
