Good - no great - day!

Thursday, March 15, 2012

Tough day today but very rewarding. Day3 post-op, went to my doctor for a followup exam. I still had some major fluid around the knee so the doc drained to take some of the pressure off. Then we did some exercises, straightening and flexing my leg, it was tough, painful in fact but felt good after. Then after the orthopedist I went to the physical therapist for the first appointment. That was also really painful but gradually felt better toward the end of the session. The best was the last 15 minutes where they electrical stim and iced my knee. It felt sooooo good. I'm still in some pain but then when it feels good, it feels really good. I got home, was exhausted and just wanted to left alone on the couch to pass out and nap for bit. That's when the phone started ringing off the hook- annoying. I appreciate all my friends and boyfriend being concerned and wanting to check up on me, but I just needed a break. No talking, just peace and quiet. So I was a bit cranky. BF is such a trooper, he also had knee surgery many years ago so he understood right away. He said turn off the phone, nap and we'll talk later. So now it's me time. And I feel perfectly content with my iPad sitting quietly on the couch. I did really good today worked hard on my exercises and gave it my best. Now I finally have a schedule to follow and I feel really confident that I will follow through on my PT. phew! What a day!

Yes! Great attitude about the necessity of getting the motion back despite the pain right now!!

Draw the shades now and rest up...your Friends will understand.

Sorry to hear that it was painful, but glad it felt better at the end/afterwards. You seem well on the road to recovery!
