I can ride a bike again!

Thursday, March 15, 2012

I rode my bike for at least an hour today. I can't remember exactly when I began. I practiced turning in a parking lot and then rode around the park. I still had to walk the bike the narrow parts of the paved path but I managed to do well for only my fourth or so try since childhood. I am now filtering some water to drink while I type this. I am so thirsty but soda doesn't work when I am very thirsty. I managed to remember that the breaks were on the handle bars the whole time. (No backwords pettling today) I have also walked a lot this week. I walked home from work once and part of the way home another day.
But, I can't seem to do the eating part. I can go for a few days and then I binge. I love cold sweets such as ice cream. Sometimes, fruit cocktail is a good substitute but sooner or later I WANT ICE CREAM. Sometimes I can limit it to half a cup. Other times, it is two cups. Grrr.

Baby Tuxxy has a good idea. I make ice creamish milk shakes. I use protein powder (I get at Walmart), a little splenda and ice cubes to make thick. I really like it = now my grandchild doesn't think it is a milk shake, but I have some every night.

Great going on your bike! I need to get mine back out from the winter.

That is fantastic that you are back on your bike and enjoying yourself while you are exercising. I can't wait to get my bike out and ready to ride again. Have a great weekend.

Way to go getting your exercise in! Something you might want to try is getting bananas and freezing them(peel them first and store in a freezer tight container),
you can blend them without added sugar and have instant banana ice cream. Another thing I like to do is freeze those fruit cups that have 100% juice instead of sugar, then blending them with a little 2% milk, if you adjust the milk just right, you have really good ice cream without a lot of calories!
