Mistake........went to El Fenix last night....it is a new mexican restaurant here in town. Should have stuck with the original plan, which was to go to Logan's and have their light fare. In El Fenix' defense, they also had a light menu, and I did choose from it. Only 600 calories for the huge shrimp salad. No problem, right? Wrong! The chips and salsa did me in. I didn't even bother to count. How many calories are in a BASKET of chips anyway!?!?!?!?

Oh, chips and salsa! I could make a meal on them alone! But one thing I am learning about Mexican cuisine for me personally is that I don't feel too good after eating it. I'm sluggish and always stuffed! So, little by little, I'm learning to choose my dining out at restaurants that provide food that will make me feel better after eating. Hhmmm....God must be changing me!

Vista, there are some things that we are better off not knowing. I really like those chips.

I feel your pain! I do the same thing - and I'm going to a girls' night out next Monday at a great Mexican restaurant. I'm already planning ahead for the mind set I'll need to overcome temptations.

The chips and salsa are really really impossible. Our fav Mexican restaurant has a very light soup first, which is a very good alternative, but we still eat the chips, even though they actually are not good ones.

I'm also guilty, but that doesn't make it OK. LOL. Always starting over is better than than never even trying. We can do this, can't we? Yes we can.
