So I've been pulling out all the ropes trying to keep my calories between 1200-1500 a day and still fill satisfied/ fulfill my nutrition requirements.
One thing I've discovered is that while I can go without coffee most mornings, having a cup a few times a week really makes me feel energized and I enjoy taking the time to drink it while reading something or just relaxing. It is a nice part of my morning that I don't want to give up.
Reading others comments I have been really encouraged to try my coffee black. Since I started drinking coffee the first time a few years ago, I couldn't bear not to have sugar and cream with it. Why else would I drink that disgusting beverage? Now my perspective has changed a bit. Once in a while I will be drinking my coffee and just feel disappointed that it doesn't even taste like coffee, just a sweet sweet sugary drink of some sort.
This morning I had my coffee with just a squirt of honey and some skim milk. I really enjoyed it! And saved myself about 100 calories for my morning that could go towards an egg or some fruit!
So, I can save myself a couple hundred calories a week...If I don't compensate with another type of sweet, meaning that if I just cut out my sugary sweet not-really-coffee coffee, I will lose an average of one pound every ten weeks, virtually effortlessly!
For the next week ahead, my goal is to learn how to make more delicious and nutritious salads (another item I despised in the past, but now cannot deny that they can be both good and extremely healthy) My salads are incredibly bland and I cannot find a healthy dressing that I like! I just need a little bit of flavor, maybe something a little tart and simple...Gotta look up some recipes.
