This is not a Feminist Rage blog, let me make that clear at the outset. I am in fact a feminist, but I'm not the type to rage about it. Unless I've been reading Susan Faludi or something, in which case all bets are off. If I keep up with this blog, it will be primarily about my process of getting in shape and being as healthy as I can.
However. I will on occasion be posting about gender issues like body shape, women's issues with body shape, social expectations around body shape, and things like that. If you are a man, you are 1000% welcome to join that discussion - but if you can't do it respectfully and on-topic, to be honest you're better off not. Responses to my posts that basically boil down to "You sad ignorant woman, you clearly just need a man to come along and tell you things that everyone already knows" will get about as long a shrift from me as they deserve.
(In the spirit of gender equality, the Lecture on Things Everyone Already Knows response will not go over much better coming from women. Basically, if you've heard it so many times that you could embroider it on a sampler in the dark ("Weight loss happens in the kitchen!"), then let's please stipulate that I have probably already heard it too.)
And now I have to hit the exercise bike if I'm going to have a hope of getting in my full amount of cardio today, and in the mood I'm in I need it.
