Attempting to get un-sore

Ugh! I have been ultimately sore since Sunday night. I wanted to run the route that I will be running for my upcoming 8k and did fairly well. The next day I did my usual yoga but added in some treadmill hill brisk walking prior to the class. Usually Sunday is my refresh day where yoga is the only thing that I do but I ate wayyyyy too many cookies so I tried to make up for some of it.
Boy, I never thought a warrior pose could burn so much!! I have learned that I will never do that again prior to a yoga class. In fact, definitely not as my legs are STILL sore and it's Tuesday! My race is this upcoming Saturday so I'm forcing myself to not workout as much as I usually would. It is also my first 40 hr week at the corporate wellness site and it is unavoidable as for teaching.
My plan is to do the minimum this upcoming Thursday just like today. An ab class I can handle! I'm going to try out some more protein in my diet as well as doing the foam roller to get some of that aching out. I even tried the hot tub last night (my excuse to go use it! ;) ) which usually helps out with my soreness but that did me no justice! More protein and foam roller, here I come!!
