When you see someone every day, it's hard to detect changes that happen slowly over time. Case in point: I work with my friend Ann, so we see each other 5 days a week. We went to lunch today and while we were standing in line to order, she told me that she was at her daughter's house last night looking at her wedding photos from December. She said there were some pictures of me and when she saw them, she realized how much of a difference there is in my appearance from then to now. It was really a nice compliment to hear after recently thinking to myself that I'm working hard but not "seeing" big results.
Today is Ann's birthday and the boss brought in cupcakes for everyone to celebrate. After lunch, Ann walked around the office passing them out and she didn't offer me one. She knew I wouldn't take it and I'm glad that she's being considerate of my efforts by not trying to tempt me. She's a great friend!
