Once Upon a New Year........yeah....
I'm still alive, folks

Tuesday, March 13, 2012

Hi Friends,
I've been doing a terrible job at this weight thing and wonder if I'll ever get that energy to focus on it! I haven't been doing ANYTHING with this, so much changes going on here lately.
I know one thing for sure.....
soon I will be increasing my Daily Steps, lol, because we were able to PURCHASE A NEW HOME, in FULL, with CASH. The formula was simple....suffer all spring, summer and fall without while hubby is bedridden, lose his job, fight back, and WIN a settlement at the same time as finding an approximate 2500 square foot house for $15,000, just a mile and a half towards the center of town!
We are gong from an 1100 sq. ft. to that. The house was built before 1873 and is really beautiful inside, but needs some TLC since it had been apartments before our purchase.
We are real excited about this and I expect to be much more active in my daily routine because of it.
That's all the hope I can offer you for now.
About the synthroid experiment (taking it at night instead of A.M.) I am still doing that and I still like it, but I haven't lost weight, gained some even, but it's my lack of concentration at fault, of course.
I'll talk to ya'll later. Who all is still one here and active anyway?? It's been a lonnnngggg time. So sorry.

Glad hubby is doing better and that you found a doctor who was able to figure things out!!
As for being on assistance... the people that don't WANT to be on it are the very people that it was designed to help. (refusing to completely step up on soap box) I'm glad that it's available to you.

So happy to have you back and to hear that things are going so well!!

Oh,thanks for asking...I should have said in my post. oops.
Um, well, he was bedridden from April to October. Then he went to a pain management doctor who first tried that spinal shot, which did not work and only caused an excruciating headache for about 3 weeks. But then meanwhile, he took Hubby off of Vicatin and Oxycontin and gave him an actual Nerve Pain med that worked a seeiming MIRACLE. Hubby was standing up within days and able to walk. In fact, JUST in time to go view that house we ended up purchasing.
He will never be himself again, the arthritis is doing a number on him, and he wears down easily. He almost never sleeps well and is in constant pain of some kind. But at least he can STAND. We will probably have to get on disability, because I can't imagine him ever being able to hold a full time job again. But...we'll see. Right now, we are still able to receive food and cash assistance. Don't like doing it, but we are thankful it is there. :)
