Much Ablog about Little

Saturday, March 10, 2012

I don't have a lot to report but what I do have to say is quite exciting for me!

One of my greatest regrets is not having measurements from when I started my weight loss journey in Jan 2011. Finally, when I was frustrated with pounds lost in October 2011, I finally decided to take some measurements, a starting point if you will. By Jan 1, 2012 when I took my second set of measurements, I lost 7 inches but no pounds! Not bad, right?

So today I decided to measure again. Roomy clothes told me it was time to see what what up, or down as it were! From 1/1/12 to today 3/10/12, I've lost ANOTHER 8.75 inches! So, let's all do the math! That's 15.75 inches lost in 5 months! Wow! I'm shape shifting!

Oh, and here is the best part to me...I'm still wearing the same bras that I was in January 2011, the Girls are sticking with me through this journey! Yeah Girls! I've never had extra and my DH is completely against buying new Girls so I have to keep what I have!

I have blogs galore in my brain, I hope to blog more often and share what I'm thinking! Thank you all, so much, for your support on this journey of life. Thank you.

Karen

Congrats on some major achievements!! You remind me (well all of us) that even if we aren't dropping pounds we are still "body shifting" and that's fine!!

Let me add my voice to the I'd like to see more blogs from you as well. You're a good writer and it's unfair not to share!!

    Keep up the good work.

Good for you! I told ya ... measurements are the BEST! You are already SEEING with your own eyes that you are SHRINKING in the amount of space you take up in the world! That is SOOOOOOO exciting! And congrats on the "girls" ... always like to know there's a happy hubby in every household! emoticon Hugs ... Eda

I'm with Travelgrrl. I loved that your husband doesn't want to have it any other way. Mine is the same about my tiny girls.
Congratulations on your lost inches, but MORE than that, congratulations on finding a better way to measure health and fitness. Great example. Great blog. And yes, do bless us with more blogging!

I agree it's a shame you didn't measure at the start but I winder if it's possible to work out what your hips and waist were from a pair of trousers that "just fit" at the start..or did you throw them out?
I'm really proud of your loss, it is wonderful to know something is shifting when the scales stick.
Good wishes for a continued loss

Yeah Karen! You are melting away! And Yeah for your girls sticking around, that is very kind of them. LOL! I'm so glad you took your measurements since you have been so frustrated with not seeing the pounds decrease. I can see that you are shrinking every time I see you but when the scale is not moving, it can be hard to believe that you are making progress........but WOW 15.75 inches is a heck of a lot of progress. emoticon
I am so excited for you and proud of you for all you have done. You have been working so hard and look what happens.........you shrink! emoticon

    Hugs to you my friend!

    Karen,

That's wonderful on your progress! I am so happy you are doing well. Keep us posted in your progress. For myself, I measure once a month and take lots of body pics every 6 months.
It really helps not to forget all the progress we're making.

Thanks for sharing your journey with us and congratualtions! How is the Primal/Paleo cravings now???? I am on my 4th week of Reset with no cravings or hunger and I've lost 6 lbs in 3 weeks. Oh and another good book you might want to read is "Mastering Leptin." I highly recommend it! The reason I share this is because I wish someone would have told me how to control my eating and weight years ago. It would have changed my life so much earlier!
    Hugs, Paula

Well done!! That is fantastic! You are very lucky to still be wearing the same bra size -I went down two sizes upstairs before the fat started coming off my hips -but that is life in the endomorph, pear shaped kingdom..It sloughs off quickly everywhere but where you really want it..
    Keep up the GREAT work!!
