The Gift that Keeps Giving

Saturday, March 10, 2012

Everything is down. My cholesterol, my blood pressure, my jeans.
I had a physical in the middle of my whining about that bad scale, and I turned out to be in better health than in years.
Really, my thought with joining here was to lose weight. I never even considered the side effects. At my age (76) I thought the best thing would be if I maintained.
And about my jeans: I wore them all day, glad that they didn't choke me anymore. But when I undressed at night, I forgot they were jeans with a button and zipper, and just pulled them down!
So far, after 25 ugly pounds gone, I have lost inches, gained energy, and am very healthy. I now promise to be more attentive to all the good advice located on this site, and continue to improve, and some day, every one of us will be perfect in every way!

    Well done Smokey!

As for being perfect *some day*... wrong! We are perfect right now, with all our faults. How boring would it be if we didn't have anything to work towards?
Except, that isn't perfection, we just set ourselves our own goals so we can have some fun :)))

It proves that we're never too old to improve our health (and our outlook on life.) I'm 78, and I think we're doing great. Thanks for the blog. emoticon

How awesome for you! There is a misperception that being overweight causes all those ailments, but it goes a little deeper than that. Those same things that cause the ailments cause the weight gain too - treat one aspect and they all get better together!

I've never felt so good as in these last few months without sugar and junky starch! I'm 54 this year.)
