I didn't realize it till now, Saturday morning, but last week was really a full and kind of crazy week. I applied for a new job, my husband C.'s friend came to visit for a few days, C. got sick with a stomach bug and then I caught it a few days later (and am still stuck with it -- not fun), we went to Niagara Falls for a quick day trip, my coworker/friend R. had her last day at work, which leaves my department really shorthanded until my boss hires a replacement.... A lot of stuff happened!
But the good thing is, I didn't use food to deal with any of the not-so-great stuff and stress. I had a pretty healthy week in terms of food/exercise, and I lost 2 pounds. I think I'll finally get to my goal this time, and stay there, and finally get "losing weight" off my mind. I think "maintaining" will be a more pleasant mindset, although not necessarily easy.
It really helped that I joined the Biggest Loser challenge in the "Parents of infants (up to age 2)" SparkTeam. When I did my first weigh-in for it a week ago, I only had 6 more pounds to lose, but I really needed a kick in the pants, so I joined anyway! It really helps to have a deadline of "official" weigh-in days; otherwise, I could go on procrastinating forever. Our weekly challenge this week was to exercise 30 minutes 3 times a week, and I did that, too. (Would have been more, but then I got sick...) Go Orange Team! :)
