Supermarket traps...look out!!

Friday, March 09, 2012

I went grocery shopping and was bombarded with samples here and there!I was running behind and starving because I committed the ultimate sin!I didnt have a snack beforehand. The strong aroma's were like they were being piped into the store.I was like a rat wafting on cheese fumes,CHARGE!!I tasted, drank, appetized, dessert
ed and SCREECH came to a halt....I realized that by going into that store hungry in the first place,I was headed for a supermarket fiasco!I took a moment, pulled out an apple from my bag and munched away.I washed it down with some water.Sadly I had to take inventory of my carts items...REALLY?Cookies,chips,s
kinny cow candy,Juices!!I took a stroll back through, unburdening my cart of it's contents....It is never too late to put stuff back, even at the checkout!!I was telling myself my grandkids would eat it when in reality,I knew I would scarf it down.I am a food addict, just like a drug addict, alcoholic or smoker!I usually only buy one candy bar,one mini chips, one juice and eat them, never take them home.I would otherwise look like Cookie Monster at a junk food party... emoticonSUSAN

Excellent choice! And excellent wake up decision to put the dangerous stuff BACK! Yeah, that rule of eating before the grocery store is a wise one!

Good for you, Susan! It can take what feels like superhuman strength to do that - and to resist the 1,382,375 samples they hand out - but it's well worth the while. They do try to make it difficult for us, though, don't they? It gets easier...

LOL...You made me laugh! I am the same way when I'm at Sams Club on Saturdays. You made such a good choice to put your unneccessary purchases back. You were also very smart to have remembered an apple. I was eyeing a frosted Lofthouse cookie all morning and then, the lightbulb came on, and I remembered I needed to eat. I haven't given that cookie a thought until just now and, you know?, I'm ok with leaving it in its container.

Thank you for the goodie. Have a great weekend and keep making good choices!
