Reading to first graders

Friday, March 09, 2012

Well this is short. I just couldn't leave up a blog about sunspots! By the way, does anyone know if that's done?
I have to move along to go and read to some first graders very soon. A full 30 minutes of reading which is also a nice break for the teacher. In case you didn't know the month of March is Literacy Month. I am doing this through our Rotary club but if you have a short person, or even big, pick up a funny book this month and read to them. I think you will both enjoy it. emoticon
I got some treadmill time in this morning so I was ready for an early lunch and off to school I go. emoticon

I miss my days of reading to first graders. I did that for all eight years that I had children in elementary school. Looking forward to a day when I have grandchildren to read to or retirement (if that ever happens) so I can volunteer to read in a school again.

So glad there are people like you who are willing to serve as guest readers!

I have heard that a lot of teachers are having guest readers. Love it.
