Hi all! My name is Michelle and back in December I decided to join a gym with some personal training visits, and my awesome trainer informed me of sparkpeople, and I LOVE IT! My weight had crept up to 296 pounds I was having signs of sleep apnea, and our mountain trip for Thanksgiving was torture because I got so out of breath on our hiking trails. Not to mention that I could only fit in sweat pants and a pair of maternity jeans, even my scrubs were getting too tight. So it was then I decided I MUST lose some weight not only for myself, but my 2 daughters as well.
So its been a little over 3 months now I'm down 48 pounds and 15 inches! My 15 year old has also lost 39 pounds and my 8 year old makes healthier eating choices. WE door a lot more things outdoors, eliminated sodas, and gave up fast food . I pray that I have spared them the torture of being the "fat kids" in school. And that they will learn that exercising isnt torture, rather a great way to feel great!
I still have A LONG way to go but this site and my trainer have kept me motivated and I know as long as I keep the determination up, I WILL reach my goals. I used to see all the infomercials and think yeah right people cant really lose 100 pounds doing anything! But now I know there are truly no quick fixes, but with hard work, a great support system and proper education you can acheieve your goals.
