sad news

Thursday, March 08, 2012

My stepsons' half-brother was killed yesterday in a car accident. DH's ex-wife lost her husband only last year, and I'm sure the loss of her son is devastating. I know there is a lasting bond of sorts between my husband and his ex-wife, and DH is trying to be a rock for everyone, at a time when he is suffering his own burdens.
We were going to take a short trip to meet one son's in-laws; that trip will now include a funeral. I hope to be able to continue with my plans to see my Mom, but they may have to change.

And DH's pain meds aren't strong enough to keep him pain-free. Break-through pain aggravates his heart condition.

It's no 1-2 punch; it is a 1-2-3 punch. The proverbial excrement has hit the fan...

Thank you all for your support.
We left abruptly; and I just got back.
I did get to see my mom.
We are working on solving DH's dependency on pain meds that are so wreaking havoc with his emotions. Consequently, the next 6 weeks will be especially rough on him, and thus on me; but essentially, I am fine.

I'm catching up on all that has accumulated while I was gone a month; forgive my brevity, please. Again, thank you.

I'm so sorry to hear this Koshie. My lovely sister was killed in a car accident 30 years ago. I can remember the shock very well. It comes so out of the blue. I shall keep you and the family in my thoughts.
